The WVSTC is back! WVNET, along with our K-12 and Higher Education partners, would like to announce the return of the West Virginia Statewide Technology Conference in a virtual format on July 12-14, 2021. Keynote speakers include digital learning consultant Dr. Alec Couros as well as author and professor Dr. John Spencer. The Call for Proposals and Early Bird registration are currently open. 2020 was a year unlike any other before, with the COVID-19 pandemic presenting many new challenges for WVNET and our customers. WVNET management and staff expertly managed the challenges head on. The year consisted of some restructuring, staff retirements and some employees moving on to a new opportunity. But we still finished the year with six new employees joining the WVNET team, along with several employee promotions and advancements. On top of that, WVNET celebrated
WVNET is excited to launch our new Teaching and Learning Commons— a re-envisioning of how we deliver IT services, expertise and support to the state of West Virginia. Formerly titled the \”Distance Learning and Educational Services Division,\” the Teaching and Learning Commons is still offering all of the services and support it has always provided; however, we are adding to these services a focus on structured Professional Development. 2019 was another year of restructuring, staff retiring and some employees moving on to the next adventure in their lives. But we still came out on top with 10 new employees to joining the WVNET team. Also, WVNET will be celebrating 45 years of service in 2020. Check out our blog for some history on WVNET throughout the years.
We are pleased to announce Dr. Carl Powell has embarked on his tenure as the 10th Director of the West Virginia Network. Dr. Powell comes to us with an extensive background in IT and Higher Education. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Powell to West Virginia and the WVNET team.

2018 was a year of serious change for WVNET. Our management from the top down was restructured, some of our staff retired or moved on to other opportunities, and we adjusted our work flow a bit to better support our customers.
