The West Virginia Statewide Technology Conference (WVSTC) will return to Morgantown from July 19-21, 2023. The conference has announced its call for presentation proposals as part of the first step to planning the conference. “This is a great opportunity for professionals who work with technology from all around the state—whether you work in higher ed, K-12 schools, government or even non-profits to showcase programs they’ve implemented, lessons learned, research conducted and more,” says conference co-chair,
The Call For Presentations deadline is fast approaching! We are looking for individuals to participate in panel discussions on the following topics: Would you be interested in participating in a panel discussion? If so, drop us a line! Panel discussions aren’t the only way to participate— we are still recruiting for our concurrent session tracks. We are looking forward to seeing you in Morgantown in July!
This affects all WVNET traffic in the southern part of the state and users may experience higher latency and slower speeds. Zayo dispatched crews at 6:30 this morning but does not currently have an ETA on repairs. Additional updates will be provided as they become available.
As of 4pm, the issue has been resolved. Work will continue but should not create latency nor outages. We will be monitoring the situation in the South and working with WVOT and K12 to confirm the issue doesn’t return.
Starting at 6:00 AM on December 19, you may experience suboptimal network performance to the Internet and Internet2 due to an upstream provider infrastructure upgrade (with a potential outage window of 24 hours). This may have an impact on services provided by WVNET.

Chris has been an integral part of the WVNET Telecommunications Department since December 1998. Initially stepping in as the primary field technician, Chris has journeyed to every county courthouse and college campus that WVNET has ever supported.
